On tonight's episode of Bar Rescue, Jon
Taffer and crew are in Sunnyside, New York to try to rescue Jack's Ale House. The bar is owned by three firefighter brothers who can't stop fighting. The bar was inherited from their father and they recently went through renovations to rename the bar to Jack's Ale House.
During the Bar Rescue makeover, Jack's Ale House was renamed to Jack's Fire Dept., which has a firefighter theme. It appears that the bar goes by both names, or is simply referred to as Jack's. Let's take a look at some information, reviews, and updates for Jack's Fire Dept. since Bar Rescue came and made all of the changes to the bar:
Only 1 Review after the Makeover:
Other News and Link:
Conclusion:
It seems that Jack's has kept all of the changes to the bar done by Bar Rescue, and they also seem to have support from the local community who want to see them succeed. The only review had complaints about the service and crowd, but liked the makeover.

Only 1 Review after the Makeover:
- "Went here last night w a group for a birthday. Service was terrible. Waitress was slow and it took 45 mins for a quesadilla and fries. A couple of times we has out drinks served to us with a few missing drinks. The crowd is a neighborhood crowd and rude to say the least. The makeover is cool but thats about it."
Other News and Link:
- Here are two preview videos of the episode from the Spike TV website.
- Here is the Jack's Facebook page which is kept up-to-date, and the Jack's website, which both still say Jack's Ale House.
- The bar was closed for a few days after the makeover to finish things up and to train staff. The bar also said it was an amazing experience. (Link)
- Brian McGowan was asked if he was happy with the makeover, which he replied, "We’re delighted with the work they did. They really turned the look of the place around. Look at the bar, that’s a vintage fire truck design. We’re very happy with the way the outside garden area has been transformed too.” (Link)
- From looking at the comments on an article right after the Bar Rescue makeover, and another article in 2012, it seems that the McGowans have a lot of people saying they are great people and that they hope the McGowans succeed.

typical out of control irish drunk fireman with hot tempers!!!!! they must be part of the bully republican party....they just don't get!!!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat an irrelevant comment! Politics were not discussed in any context on this episode. Also, speaking of bullies, that's incredibly tolerant of you to go right to offensive cultural stereotypes, please spare us your thoughts on the foibles of other races and nationalities.
ReplyDeletetypical NYC Manhattan Dem-nose up in the air like Moussolini-better than every one else and a racist comment to boot. I hope you guys succeed.
ReplyDeleteThe bar looks awesome, but I won't see the insides and millions like me won't either. We are talking about ADA. When a remodel is done to a non-compliant building that remodel must also include access for wheelchair bound people. The restrooms must be ADA compliant too. Those Urinals were awesome though! I'll never get the chance to use them. John Tapper, Spike and the production company should know that wheelchair accessibility to any remodeled business is THE LAW! Federal LAW! A ramp along side of the building that led to the front door would have allowed access.
ReplyDeleteTypical Liberal looser, always blaming someone else.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately come Wednesday, comment sections are going to be full of
ReplyDeleteDemocrat posters like UNtruth speaker, and they'll be angrier than
usual.
I do think it's funny that he/she/it thinks "typical out
of control irish drunk fireman with hot tempers" in New York of all
places are Republicans.
The bar haanother entrance that is wheelchair accessible and the bathroom is as well. Everyone stop jumping to conclusions an check it out yourselves before you make assumptions
ReplyDeleteI am an American man, and I have decided to boycott American women. In a nutshell, American women are the most likely to cheat on you, to divorce you, to get fat, to steal half of your money in the divorce courts, don’t know how to cook or clean, don’t want to have children, etc. Therefore, what intelligent man would want to get involved with American women?
ReplyDeleteAmerican women are generally immature, selfish, extremely arrogant and self-centered, mentally unstable, irresponsible, and highly unchaste. The behavior of most American women is utterly disgusting, to say the least.
This blog is my attempt to explain why I feel American women are inferior to foreign women (non-American women), and why American men should boycott American women, and date/marry only foreign (non-American) women.
BOYCOTT AMERICAN WOMEN!

Easy there killer, just because you didn't see it doesn't mean it's not there. Roll your self on down there and check it out.
ReplyDeleteYou know what they say about assume...
ReplyDelete"Looser"? Should we infer that you believe conservatives are wound a bit to tight?
ReplyDeleteWhy does everyone have to politicize things? Nothing, not one word, was mentioned about politics! One could say they got themselves in trouble financially, like a lot of Dems, and needed a bailout. You are stupid, BS speaker! If you want politics, read political stories...not these. SMFH!
ReplyDeleteMy girlfriend and I went here this past weekend. We had a great time! The food and drinks were 100% spot-on. The urinal game was disabled, though; not much of a letdown, though, as some stupid funny videos were being shown in its place.
ReplyDeleteThis was a great rescue; I hope they continue to do well.
I know-right..
ReplyDeleteLibtrash just can't keep there childish nonsense to themselves, they always have to be hateful intolerant trolls 24/7/365 who behave like perpetual 3-year-old mongoloid children.
ReplyDeleteRacist much?
ReplyDeleteAnother whiny, self-righteous wheelchair type.
ReplyDeletePot, meet Kettle. Kettle, please meet Mr. Pot
ReplyDeleteNot sure what the a**hole anti-Irish comment was about. Sunnyside used to be a tough Irish town that is quickly growing yuppy. Anyway, good luck guys. Place looks great. Next time I'm home I'll bring some folks.
ReplyDeleteIdiot of the Day . . . . award winner
ReplyDeleteCash business avoiding taxes. Clowns.
ReplyDelete"Here is the Jack's Facebook page which is kept up-to-date, and the Jack's website, which both still say Jack's Ale House."
ReplyDeleteThey have updated their FB page to now say Jack's Fire Dept so they have half switched.
... and nobody will argue your point because you're absolutely right. I've been saying the same thing for years and no one has any defense for it, except for the usual insults. Divided and conquered... how does it feel, partisans?
ReplyDeleteNYC Libs have always had their panties bunched up when it comes to the NYCFD-it's too white ya know.
ReplyDeleteAnyone calling the FDNY NYCFD is hard to take serious.
ReplyDeleteI think this was one of the best makeovers I have seen on Bar Rescue. Great concept, perfect for this family, just a nice unique neighborhood bar. If my city had a Jack's Fire Dept I would check it out for sure. If they fail it will be their own fault because Taffer nailed this one!
